Canterbury Earthquake Commission

After Christchurch’s 7.1 Earthquake in September, the Earthquake Commission needed to rapidly set up an office in Canterbury to begin the enormous task of processing the thousands of insurance claims coming in from residents and businesses.

Every claim needed a file, and each file needed to be stored in a form that was easily accessed by the EQC staff to provide relevant information to assessors, with appropriate controls and security. It was important that each claim file was:

  • Stored safely
  • Clearly labelled
  • Took up minimal space
  • Easy to retrieve

Because they were dealing with such large numbers in such a short time frame, it was important that the storage was:

  • Tidy and professional
  • Easy to use and maintain
  • Able to be added to when needed
  • Delivered and installed quickly
  •

Accent Filing was proud to be able to offer a storage and filing solution that met all of the Earthquake Commission’s needs. The total filing package supplied by Accent comprising of shelving, files and a labelling solution have provided the EQC with a system that streamlines the processes involved in dealing with large amounts of paper files. In turn, this will help save the EQC time and space while they help the people of Canterbury get back on their feet.
